Book and Paper Alumna to Present at January 2014 CBAA Conference

Ringing in the New Year, Salt Lake City will be hosting book artists from far and wide at the College Book Arts Association Conference, January 2–4, 2014. InterArts alumna Jenna Rodriguez will be making a number of appearances at the conference this year, first to present her thesis project Running Thoughts, a multimedia installation, and also as an artist exhibitor in the Juried Member Exhibition, on display in the J. Willard Marriott Library Gallery at University of Utah. The 2014 Conference theme is Print, Produce, Publish, and Jenna has been constantly busy doing all three since graduating last spring.

While preparing to take off for Utah, Jenna has been sharing her love of letterpress printing with students at Spudnik Press. Her new session of classes begins January 11, where she will be leading classes in Wood & Metal Type; Letterpress II Polymer (starting in March); and Letterpress Your Own Cards (later in spring).

A Seat At the Table

Rounding out 2013, Jenna’s work was juried into the exhibition A Seat At The Table: An Exploration Through Artists’ Books, which opens December 13 in Fort Worth, TX. The exhibition, which will run at WoCA Projects December 13-January 17, 2013, is a conceptually-driven, juried exhibition of artists’ books giving voice to concepts, ideas, behaviors, beliefs, and experiences that relate or speak to everyday social life.
