Assistant Professor of Digital Arts Opportunity at Southwestern College

Southwestern College in Winfield, Kansas seeks a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Digital Arts beginning August 2013. The faculty member will be responsible for teaching an undergraduate graphic design course in traditional media, but the main focus will be on digital art. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in 2D and 3D modeling and animation, and be able to teach relevant principles in interactive design, web design, and digital sound. This faculty member will also provide graphic design guidance for students in the college’s video game program. A strong commitment to undergraduate teaching is essential. The successful candidate will also be required to actively participate in maintaining and shaping the curriculum in digital arts; to advise students, and to serve on college committees. A master’s degree is required; a terminal MFA in Art is preferred. University or college-level teaching experience beyond that of graduate assistant is also required.
