Mordine & Co. returns to the Dance Center of Columbia College this Fall

Dance Center founder Shirley Mordine will revives I Haven’t Gone There… at their upcoming Dance Center performances at Columbia College on October 3, 4, and 5. Inspired by Commedia dell’Arte, the piece features six performers and four musicians who, like troubadours, lure the audience on a journey to unknown places, with unexpected encounters. The maverick marching band Mucca Pazza performs Mark Messing’s score live, with text created by InterArts Faculty member Bryan Saner (formerly of Goat Island Performance Group).

Saner, whose work emphasizes the creation of performances, art, and activist events and appropriately designed objects, has made a long term commitment to close collaboration with artists and activists in creating alternative artistic, educational, and economic communities. His interdisciplinary work is notable in its inception both in and outside of existing established systems.

Also on the program is All at Once/Acts of Renewal, inspired by the ability to quickly process a deluge of information in the digital age. Performances begin at 8:00 p.m. at the Dance Center of Columbia College Chicago, 1306 S. Michigan Avenue Chicago’s South Loop. More information and tickets can be found here.
