Very Raub Gallery Home Presents Work by Book and Paper MFA

Working to complete a thesis installation in time for the Interdisciplinary Arts MFA Thesis Exhibition seems to be just not enough for one ambitious Columbia MFA candidate. In addition to planning, writing, creating and installing her piece this spring, third-year book and paper MFA Krista Franklin will be opening an exhibition of work at the Very Raub Interiors Gallery Home in Bronzeville.

Bronzeville-based artist, interior designer, and event planner Raub Welch opened Gallery Home in July of 2012, with the mission to fuze fine art, interior design, and event planning under one roof. The gallery, located at 4211 S. Champlain Avenue, will present the one-woman show “My Friend Krista: Works by Krista Franklin.” An opening reception with the artist is planned for this Saturday, March 30, at 7:00 p.m. “I am so excited to present this outstanding work,” said Welch. “The combination of handmade-Victorian-paper-meets-modern-black-Americiana is sure to stir emotions.”
