TODAY! CBPA Hashbrown Team Competes in the 2013 Spudnik Press Chili Cook-Off

Spudnik Press’s annual Hashbrown Chili Cook-Off fundraiser brings together twelve of Chicago’s finest organizations devoted to printmaking and self-publishing. Each contender in this annual competition provides a pot of chili in support of Spudnik’s mission to keep printing and publishing approachable and affordable.

The 2013 InterArts/CBPA Team consists of Jessica Cochran (CBPA staff), Chip Schilling (InterArts faculty), Kate Morgan (Book and Paper MFA), April Sheridan (CBPA staff), and Daniel Mellis (InterArts Book and Paper alumnus), presenting a “coffee and doughnut” themed mini-meal.

In addition to fun, warm food, and comforting drinks, Spudnik’s Annex Gallery will feature a solo show of artists’ books by CBPA team member Daniel Mellis. Voting promises to be lively and competitive, as most print community events are. Besides the usual first, second, or third place, there are also “Golden Squeegee” Awards for vegetarian and meat categories, determined by popular vote. Cook-off winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m. or when chili runs dry.
